Classic Strawberry Shortcake

Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Add milk and butter and stir to form a sticky dough.

Knead on a floured surface about 15 times to form a smooth but soft dough.

Divide into 4 equal pieces and pat to 3/4" thick and bake.

Slice each shortcake in half and top with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
