Cinnamon honey butter is the perfect accompaniment to fluffy dinner rolls, baked sweet potatoes, banana bread, and so much more.
Have you ever been to Texas Roadhouse before?
Much like the best thing about Red Lobster being the Cheddar Biscuits, by far the best thing about Texas Roadhouse is the hot, buttery dinner rolls.
If you haven’t had a chance to indulge in Texas Roadhouse Rolls before, they are soft and fluffy and are served with a delightful cinnamon honey butter.
Whether you’re enjoying the rolls or not (although you really should), the cinnamon honey butter is something you’ll want to make and keep on hand all of the time.
Sweet and Flavorful Cinnamon Honey Butter
Let’s ponder that phrase for a moment. Cinnamon. Honey. Butter.
Three of life’s best things, all combined into one magical spread. Could it get any better?
I’ve seen a number of recipes for cinnamon honey butter floating around the internet and a number of them include powdered sugar along with the honey.
Now, if that’s your thing, go for it. But personally, I want all of the sweetness in this butter to come from the honey. I want that honey to be the star of the show.
This cinnamon honey butter is the perfect balance of sweet and buttery, with just the right amount of cinnamon. It’s so freaking good.
How to Make Cinnamon Honey Butter
In my personal opinion, the key to making a good cinnamon honey butter is to not overcomplicate it.
Ingredients you’ll need
I’m serious, you guys. This is simple – 3 ingredients.
For a standard batch, you’ll need:
- ½ cup softened salted butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Now, when a recipe is this simple, I do recommend thinking about the quality of your ingredients.
Splurge on some good butter. Kerrygold is a favorite in our house and is our go-to salted butter.
And maybe grab some local honey! You’ll be supporting a local producer and getting a really delicious product all at the same time.
Making this recipe
Making this cinnamon honey butter is just as easy as making any compound butter, such as whipped cherry butter or garlic herb butter. It’s just as impressive on your dinner table as lemon curd with a fraction of the work!
Make sure your butter is softened. Then use a mixer to whip it together with the honey and cinnamon.
Of course, if you don’t have an electric mixer, you could mix everything together with a wooden spoon. Just know that you might not be able to get it quite as fluffy and smooth.
But put some muscle into it. It’ll be worth it – the best things always are.
Once you’ve mixed it together, you can serve it immediately or pop it into the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve it.
Storage
Store your cinnamon honey butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can also freeze it for at least a month.
Thaw the butter in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight.
The honey will prevent the butter from hardening completely in the refrigerator, but I do recommend letting it rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before serving it, just to let it soften a bit.
Serving Suggestions
Of course, you don’t have to serve cinnamon honey butter only alongside Texas Roadhouse rolls.
It’s delicious on any dinner roll or biscuit, such as no-knead refrigerator rolls or sweet potato biscuits. It would also be decadent on a stack of fluffy pecan pancakes, on a slice of sourdough banana bread, or even on your morning toast.
But don’t just stop at breads! Try it on roasted acorn squash or a baked sweet potato, too. Honestly, the sky’s the limit here!
You could also package it up in small jars and gift it at the holidays.
If you are hosting Thanksgiving, try making a big batch of cinnamon honey butter and putting it in 4-ounce Mason jars or small Weck jars. Store them in the fridge or freezer and then send them home with your guests at the end of the evening!
Trust me, you’re gonna love this one.
